Toymaker: Daiya

Daiya (Terai) was founded in Tokyo, Japan in the 1950s, like many of the other great tin toy makers of the time, and produced a number of great tin and plastic toys, including cars, military vehicles, space vehicles, animals and robots, through the postwar period. Daiya appears to have been most active from the late 1950s through the early 1970s, after which they disappeared from view. Daiya's current disposition is unknown, but it is presumed to have succumbed to marketplace pressures of the early 1970s.
